Terms of Service

English is the authoritative version of these Terms.

These Terms govern your use of the Knuckl platform. Please read them carefully — by using Knuckl you agree to be bound by them.

1. Who We Are and Who This Applies To

Knuckl LLC provides a construction workforce marketplace. These Terms apply to everyone who uses Knuckl, including workers, subcontractors, and hiring contractors.

2. Account Rules

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Account information must be accurate.
  • One account per person.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

3. What Users May and May Not Do

  • No fraud or misrepresentation of skills, credentials, or identity.
  • No harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior.
  • No illegal work — including unlicensed work in a licensed trade, worker misclassification, or wage theft.
  • No off-platform payments intended to circumvent Knuckl. This restriction is a fraud-detection guardrail and is not intended to block legitimate business.

4. Content and Ownership

  • Users own the content they create — including job posts, applications, messages, and profile content.
  • By posting content, users grant Knuckl a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, transmit, translate, and process that content for the operation of the platform.
  • This license ends when the user deletes the content or their account.

5. Payments

Knuckl's core is free. There are no subscriptions or commissions to post jobs, apply, bid, hire, or message people you have worked with or accepted. We never take a cut of what workers, subcontractors, or contractors pay each other.

Optional one-time purchases, always priced before you pay and processed by Stripe:

  • Lead unlock — a flat $19 for any lead type, or one lead credit. 48-hour hold plus the owner contact details we can find. If no owner contact is found, the full $19 (or your credit) is returned automatically and the lead is released. If the contact details are wrong, you can report it within 48 hours for an automatic refund (up to 3 per 30 days; more go to manual review).
  • Free lead credits and Prepaid Job Pack — $39. Each account receives two free lead unlocks. Joining through a member's invite link adds one more, and the inviting member earns one free unlock when the invited account completes its first unlock (up to 5 per calendar month; self-invites and duplicate phone numbers or emails do not qualify). The $39 pack adds 3 lead unlocks and 1 Urgent Dispatch. Credits do not expire, have no cash value and are not refundable once purchased, except that a credit is returned instead of a card refund whenever a refund would apply to that unlock.
  • Message the pro who claimed a lead — $5. Sends one short message to the user holding that lead. Phone numbers and emails are not allowed in it. Refunded automatically if it can't be delivered. The other user's identity is not revealed before you pay.
  • Urgent Dispatch — $12. A one-time text broadcast of a helper request to nearby workers who agreed to receive texts. If charged but not sent, you get a full refund.
  • Standby Boost — $5. Puts a worker first in line for helper requests for 48 hours. It does not guarantee any work.
  • Worker cell unlock — $5 per worker. Shows a worker's verified cell number, once, for good. Workers can turn this off in Settings.
  • Notice to Owner tool — $19. Fills out a Florida Notice to Owner as a PDF from what you enter. See "Notice to Owner Tool" below.
  • Fast-Track message — $5 per person. Lets you message someone you are not connected with right away, instead of sending a free Connect request and waiting for them to accept. One-time per person, applies to every account including administrators, and never needed for people you are connected with or have worked with. Paying also sends them a Connect request. Only the recipient is shown that the message was Fast-Tracked.
  • Connect — free. Connect requests are free. To prevent spam, you may have up to 5 unanswered requests at a time, requests expire after 7 days, and the number of connections you can start depends on your level.
  • Purchases are non-refundable once delivered, except as stated above. Contact support@knuckl.com with billing questions.
  • Knuckl may link to independent third-party partners (such as insurance or equipment providers). Their services are governed by their own terms, and Knuckl may receive referral compensation at no extra cost to you.

6. Applications, Messaging and Contact Info

  • Application notes and bid pitches may not contain phone numbers, emails, or messaging-app handles. Knuckl automatically blocks them.
  • A chat between a poster and an applicant or bidder opens only when the application or bid is accepted.
  • Knuckl limits how many new people you can message per day to prevent spam.

7. Sub Package Payment Records

Sub package pages let the poster record payments and the hired subcontractor confirm them. This is a record only. Knuckl does not process, hold, or guarantee payments between users, and the record is not proof of payment for tax or legal purposes.

8. Worker Businesses and Off-Site Leads

  • Workers who list a business, services, or prices on Knuckl are solely responsible for those prices, any required licenses, insurance, and taxes.
  • Off-site leads (permits, code violations, community posts, and property-owner lookups) come from public sources and are shown as-is. Knuckl does not guarantee their accuracy. You must follow all laws that apply to contacting people, including do-not-call and anti-spam rules.

9. Notice to Owner Tool

The Notice to Owner tool is a self-help, form-filling aid, not legal advice, and Knuckl is not a law firm or attorney. It fills a standard Florida statutory form only from the information you enter; Knuckl does not decide whether you have lien rights, verify owner, lender, or property information, or guarantee that any lien is valid, enforceable, or has priority.

You are responsible for checking the notice, signing it, and serving it correctly and on time under Florida law (Chapter 713, Florida Statutes), including the service methods in section 713.18. Deadline and mailing-rule reminders are estimates. Talk to a Florida construction attorney if you are unsure.

Liability cap. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Knuckl's total liability for any claim relating to a Notice to Owner, including a missed deadline, incorrect information, defective service, or a lost or unenforceable lien, is limited to the amount you paid for that notice ($19). Knuckl is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including unpaid amounts or lost lien rights.

10. Independent Contractor Relationship

Knuckl is a marketplace platform. Workers and contractors transact directly with each other, not through Knuckl. Knuckl does not:

  • Employ workers.
  • Set worker pay.
  • Manage jobsite safety.
  • Guarantee that workers will show up.
  • Guarantee that contractors will pay.

11. Verification Limits

Knuckl performs identity and credential verification on a best-effort basis. Users are still responsible for their own due diligence. Verification does not guarantee competence, safety, or reliability.

12. Termination

  • You may close your account at any time via profile settings, with a 30-day grace period or an immediate permanent-delete option.
  • Knuckl may suspend or terminate accounts for violating these Terms, fraud, or safety concerns.

13. Intellectual Property

  • Knuckl branding, logos, and marketing content are owned by Knuckl LLC.
  • User content is owned by the user, subject to the license in the Content and Ownership section.

14. Warranties Disclaimed

The service is provided “as is.” Knuckl makes no warranty that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.

15. Liability Limit

Knuckl’s total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid Knuckl in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater.

16. Dispute Resolution

We prefer to resolve disputes informally first. Contact support@knuckl.com to try that.

If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association’s Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will be held in Orange County, Florida, or online. Small claims court is also an option for eligible disputes.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

18. Miscellaneous

  • If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • Force majeure: neither party is liable for delays due to events beyond reasonable control.
  • Failure to enforce a provision does not waive future enforcement.
  • These Terms are the entire agreement between the parties regarding your use of Knuckl.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email and in-app notification. The effective date reflects the most recent change.
